Simpler Recycling, Actually Made Simple

Since March 2025, workplaces in England must separate dry recycling, food waste and general waste. We build compliance into your cleaning contract so your team does not have to think about it.

What the rules require

The Simpler Recycling legislation requires workplaces with 10 or more employees to separate dry recyclables (paper, card, plastic, metal, glass) and food waste from general waste. Responsibility sits with the occupier, and enforcement sits with the Environment Agency.

What we do about it

  • Waste stream design and clear signage for your building
  • Internal bin servicing and collection point management within your cleaning contract
  • Training and communication for building users
  • Reporting you can use in ESG and Scope 3 disclosures

We practise what we set up

At Lakeside North Harbour we run CupCycle, the only paper cup recycling scheme in a Portsmouth office park, now in its third year, and we exhibit at the park during Recycle Week to support Simpler Recycling communication. Our own operations run on refill systems that eliminate around 1,000 single-use plastic bottles a year.
